Winner of eight PGA TOUR events, including the Tournament Players Championship and the U.S. Open. Jerry Pate has competed in more than 400 professional golf tournaments since becoming a member of the PGA TOUR in 1975. His most significant victory came at the 1976 U.S. Open Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club, the same year he won Rookie of the Year honors.Since the early 1980s, he has also been involved in the design of golf courses and has pursued the endeavor with the same passion he took to his game. Pate is considered by his fellow professionals to be one of the most talented course designers in the country. He began a broadcasting career as an on-course analyst for ABC Sports in 1988. He is currently with CBS Sports as a full ime analyst for the network’s coverage of golf. Jerry presently resides in Pensacola, Florida.
